Women do not always have a diversity of choices about public spaces they can go to. Some local cafes and restaurants are traditionally occupied by men, and women presence might be a source of curiosity, hostilities and can even lead to physical aggression.
FINEMCHI is a participatory social initiative aiming to offer women the same perspectives as men in their outings. A woman has the full right to occupy the public establishment of her choice, with family, friends, or alone, while being respected and safe.
Public establishments owners (cafés, restaurants, etc.) can make their spaces more welcoming and women-friendly by putting into practice some of our recommendations.
Finemchi’s objectives are team work which each one of us can be part of and contribute to.
Change never happens alone.
